Guys,

Two years ago I broke my leg trying an S-bend. A bummer at the time, I was out of the water for 8 weeks. For those of you with an injury at the moment you must know how this feels. For the past two years it's been at the back of my mind.

Last Sunday I had a hangover from hell as I rode about I thought what should I learn now. Next thing I knew pop, spin and I landed down on my board didn't manage to ride through, but I'd broken the mental block in my mind.

I went out again on Tuesday, quick warm up and...... the trick was mine. I've now landed about 30 and have yet to wipe out, next up.. What do you think, Vulcan?

For those of you trying to learn something new, stick with it, persistence will pay off in the long run. For those of you recovering from an injury, don't let it put you off, good luck & quick recovery.

Congrats, Ewan....Though I am but a beginner, I have some sense of the seemingly insurmountable barrier your mind can put in front of you and your progress.

In the short time I have been riding, I have found that usually the only thing keeping me from progressing is me. I can only imagine how the mental spectre of an injury must intensify your trepidation. I'm happy to hear of your success, and thanks for taking the time to share some encouraging words.
