I think I want to replace the 6 Alpine STM-6666's (30 watt RMS / 100 watt max) in the cockpit of my boat with some Polks. What are the best Polks for the money? Sorry but search just hasn't worked properly since they re-did the servers (or whatever they did) a few months ago.

go one better with the db675's, they should fit and provide a bit more bass for nearly the same price. I actually prefer the db's over my Momo's for a couple reasons.

They look perfect. Will these fit in where the std 6.5" Clariion speaker fit? Says 6.75" How well do they hold up to the weather? Thx

Would the DB675's fit in a standard 6.5 spot on the malibu boats?

I noticed that they are not marine type. Does this matter? I would expect that they are gonna get wet.

Clayton,

They won't fit in the standard 6.5 inch holes, right? The web reference says they are made for European cars.

Mikeski acted like they might ... that's why I asked if they would fit in the standard 6.5 spot.

I think they fit in the same hole just have a bigger bolt pattern. If you are mounting directly to fiberglass I would double check, if mounting to a vinyl panel it should be easy. They fit in Chevy truck doors, in addition to lots of other vehicles (including european).

I've been planning to add some Polk Momo's. I was surprised to hear some of you like the DB series better. If you do, please tell us why. Do you just like the sound better?

I was looking at Momo's as well. So I'm very interested in why you like the db's better as well?
