Lake Tahoe Road Trip

We talking about taking a road trip this summer up to Tahoe. Maybe spend a day or two on Lake Tahoe and then hit up some other locals lakes.

Are there any cool places to ride in the Tahoe area? What are the conditions like in July?

The fish bowl in DS-2 looks cool. I'm not sure what the real name of the lake is but it over looks Tahoe.

I thought that was Emerald Bay at lake Tahoe in DS2? No?

Dave- If you like, I can put you in touch with my friend Brian Hanley. He knows all the good spots in the tahoe area.

As far as the "fishbowl" location, I was sworn to secrecy by the locals. They were cool with us (for the most part) invading their sanctuary for the week, but they didnt want it becoming a wakeboarding destination. On a side note, HUGE thanks to the Sammons family for an amazing week of hospitality.

I did consider Emerald Bay, but the large fines turned me off from the idea.

I'd be happy to try and hook you up here in Tahoe. I am boatless, but have a good crew of supporters up here, including scott p. who posts on here from time to time and another buddy that would be worthy of shooting some film. Both of them have SAN's and are pretty cool with taking others out. I also have another buddy who has his boat in Crystal Bay.

Tahoe itself is fun to hang out, but to ride you really need to be out on the water by no later than 7 am and it often gets rolly by 8-9 am. There are 3 other spots within 40 minutes of Tahoe that often are good for riding mid-week.

I think we met last year at the Reno pro tour...introduced through my buddy Kaben. Drop me a line if you plan on heading up...

Sean -- Great job on the movie...the Tahoe footage was cool. It was funny seeing some of the riders clearly having trouble with the colder/harder water up here...

Yah Igor and I would be down to come out for a day or two as well. We are always down to hang out and shoot. We have a 210 as well. We are typically at Boca or Stampede and Jackson Meadows every once and a while. Igor said he would be down as long as it is not around the time his new kid is coming into the world. Just give us heads up.

we went to silver lake one year, its 45 min from tahoe or so. its a nice little alpine lake. If its not windy it is great! Little cold though, mid 60s in august for the water.

There's Boca right outside of Truckee (it's always looked pretty good to me and seems to be fairly protected) and I have a place in Truckee, just don't have a way to get my boat there. Donner too if no wind.

Compounding issues with the fecal coliform and copepod parasite at Boca definitely makes me want to steer clear of area.

Keep Boca Closed! Health and National Security reasons.

Oops never checked it for parasites, guess we'll stay at the Delta where the water is safe!

Of course the girls crawling out of the water with unimaginable growths all over them could give the vid a real "dawn of the dead" type feel and increase the bottom line from a sales standpoint!

Boca is still open it is just the dam road that is closed for "national Security" Here is the link to an article that explains it all.

yup i was there yesterday that is an exact drawing of the sign. The lake is done for the year. Or until terrorist leave us alone, especially up here in the mountains it is a prime target.

so he rode all day there. said it was cold but fun.
