Hey Guys- I'm going with my buddy to a boat auction on Monday and looking at a 2002 Moomba Mobius LSV with about 250 hours on it. The pic makes it look like it's in great shape, but we'll see. I'm just trying to get some input on what you guys think about this boat as well as a price you would throw down for it. He is a beginner rider and looking for a cost effective V-drive. I figure he might have a winner here, but not sure how high he should bid before he is getting taken. Sorry, normally I'd throw this in the 'boat' section, but I don't have much time and fewer traffic there. Thanks!

I have seen a few 2004 and 2005 models for anywhere between 27,000 and 32,000. If it is in great shape, I'd say around $23 - 25k. Of course you don't know the maintenance schedule and if it has been taken care of.

Thanks Daniel. Yeah, the maintenance schedule thing is a negative, but something he might have to deal with. I'm thinking he might be able to get it lower than 23k since it's at an auction in the middle of February in Minnesota. I don't think he's looking to shell that much out, but good to know you'd value it that high. Anyone have any experience in one of these?

All depends on condition and options. Here is a range I might think about before heading into auction. $23K if it is pristine with PP, 3 bag balast, wakeplate, tower speakers/amp, bimini, dual axle trailer, and some other goodies. $16K if it looks a little rough and has none of the goodies listed above. As far owning one, I never turn down a pull behind one. Not the Lexus of boats but it definitely gets the job done.

I'd say around $20k should be the price point on that. On onlyinboards.com there is an 02 LSV that someone is ASKING 23k for. It's MN, it's cold, and we're a ways from thaw. I hope you get a deal on it

compression, compression, compression, you dont want a couple of the pistons to be low, is there any type of warranty, can they or have done a test on the motor?

Good point guys. I forgot to mention that anything under 23 - 25 will be good for an auction. I was stating 23 - 25 for market value. but you should definitely escape with a lower price at an auction.
