I'm looking for a new board this spring. I was wondering what people are riding and if they have had experience on any of these boards? I getting some air but hoping to go wake to wake this summer (maybe) No rails, or any other tricks. Just looking for a board I can control and land well.

I ride and love the Militant. I have the Legacy and hate it. Militant is very stable without the center fins. But I have not tried the others. The Militant was also Rusty's board for a while, like 5 years ago.

I have heard good things about the Militant. How would you rate your skill. I am not advanced but would like a board that I could advance a little with. Why do you hate the Legacy? Loose, slow, ...

none of these boards will hold you back. riding more is what will help you progress

If you are just trying to go Wake to Wake why not save on a board and get a cheaper set up more for Beginner/Intermediate and use that money youll save on Gas to ride more.

Set-ups like the Witness/Vantage Boots or even the Omega/Domain from LF would work.

I leaned everything i know on a State (granted im not the greatest) but i agree with shaun, you learn the right techniques(wow i cant spell) and you will be fine on any board.

I definitely do not want to get a board to advanced. I am definitely leaning toward the state. Don't know much about the witness or omega.

There is something wrong with the Legacy. I have asked what the deal is with it here on WW and have never got a staight answer. All I know is that there is some other material on the bottom of the board that feels like velcro on the water. It doesn't glide over the water like a normal wakeboard, it feels like something is holding the board back at all times when in contact with the water. It must have been a crappy board for Byerly Boards to only make it for 2 years anyway. One of the guys said it has to be riden fast, like at 27+ mph, but I ride at 25 and thats fast enough. My skill level is intermediate with a couple spins and a couple inverts. Love the Militants.

The Lyman is a sick board, I'm loving it and I haven't really had a chance to fully experience it yet.

my dad has the watson and i have the lyman, the watson is fun sometimes. but i like the lyman ALOT more. it suits my riding style more. i dotn have alot of time on the watson, so all ive done with it is wake to wake. like everyone says about these two boards, the lyman is a better flats board and the watson is better for wake to wake tricks. Ive only ridden the watson with the center fin in, and it was no where near how loose i like a board. if you have any friends with either board give both a try, they are both great boards

I let one of my buddies borrow borrow my militant last summer after he broke his board. Within 2 weeks he landed his first "heel 7" and "toe 9" (Which he had been working on for a few years!) Stuck my first backroll on that board too. I loved it when I rode it with one exception, it was a 138 and just a bit small for me. I can't help you out with any of the others but the Militant would not be a bad choice by no means.
