There is nothing wrong with that camera. But, there are a few things you should be aware of before you throw down that kind of cash. Minolta went under and sony bought the rights to their lens mount. So, yes, your older lenses will fit, at least physically onto the body. At the same time the light meter might not work, depending on how old your minolta lenses are. Make sure to check compatibility of old lenses to the Alpha's body. Auto focus could also be a problem. My main concern would be that sony isn't as big as Nikon or canon as far as slr's go and their future is less that certain. Also, Digital Slr's have smaller sensors than 35mm cameras so there is a crop factor (1.5 for Nikon, 1.3 or 1.6 for canon). E.g., if a lens is marked 28-70 for a 35mm camera it will give a view equivalent to 42 to 105mm on your dslr. So a wide angle lens is no longer wide. But it really helps out on the tele side.
