Someone stole my Superduty!!!!

So,

I am in Iraq for a year and my wife leaves me an email that says while she was in the mall getting pictures of my 3 week old daughter taken, someone stole my truck. I am pretty pissed off. Who would steal a truck with a car seat in it? Cops said that 5 or 6 have been stolen from the Woodlands, Texas area in the last week. Oh well, now...if it is not found, what to buy to replace it....choices choices...

wow... wouldnt think that the woodlands would have a prob like that... good luck with getting it, or something to replace, back!

some lady here left her kid in her truck while she picked up her other kid from school, and the truck and kid got stolen so a car seat won't deter the slum of the world

What year...1999 and above F Series have transponder keys, and are very hard to steal.

If it is transponder key equiped, don't expect your insurance carrier to just write a check. It could go to investigations.

Your best choice would be to go to www.fredhaastoyota.com and find a nice truck new or preowned and get a smokin deal from the E-Comm Director there, I hear he is a great guy.... :-)

Woodlands has a ton of cops, on horses and all. I am surprised that happened there. Good luck buddy.

Mike, first of all THANK YOU for doing what you guys do over there in Iraq. The congrats needs to be directed towards the three week old daughter! Nice job Doug. I had a cargo trailer swiped from in front of my house a month ago insured with Progressive (yes I live in a nice area). It's just one investigator after another coming to the house, all insurance companies are seeing a crap load of fraud right now with the current economical meltdown. Dude these pathetic thieves that take our stuff that we WORK hard for need to die! Good luck and buy another ford

That has to hurt.......I've had a car stolen before, from in front of my dad's house. You feel violated. The good thing was they wrapped it around a tree so I got insurance money for it.

So I guess this is where I ask, if your dog was drowning and the guy that took your truck was drowning in the same water, who would you save?

Sorry to hear that Mike. It will end up one of two places, a chop shop or joyride, actually three and the most likely, down in Mexico transporting drugs or illegals, or both. If they find it, you'll be lucky to get it back in running condition. However, I hope it comes back safe and sound! A friend of mine had his SD stolen a while back up around the Woodlands as well. They found it the next morning driven by two fella's with a couple ounces of crack rock. They also put gasoline in it

Thanks guys. It just sucks to know that we all work so hard for our stuff and someone just takes off with it. Pisses me off.

Jeff, I hear what you are saying about the transponder key. My truck had a remote start on it, so there was a transponder key hidden under the dash, to enable the remote start to work properly.

Chris, thanks for the words buddy. I am proud to do it. I hate to be away from home, but it is a great experience to serve over here, i have seen some CRAZY things that I would have never seen otherwise, and belive it or not, you really learn to value life.

Cam, the police did go to look at the video footage, but there was a giant tree blocking the view...go figure.

I've heard from other people in that area that superduty's are getting stolen quite a bit in the woodlands/spring area.

Make sure you bring that up to them. The insurance companies put alot of weight into those keys. The company I used to work for would send a claim to Special Investigations based only on the transponder key

Why would your insurance pay off when the driver has disabled the built in anti theft devices? Just asking because you might want to review your policy before telling them you left a key in the truck.

I wish someone would steal my F250..............5 years old 50K miles shop 6+ times...... Keys are in it!

Mike and Jeff- i had a 2006 Ford F250 stolen about 6 months ago. I thoguht the same thing about the transponder key but Ford says that they do not use the transponder key in the Superduty trucks, Excursion, F150, expedition, ect. they do. The reason for this is because most of the superdutys are bought for work purposes. Contractors do not like the price of replacing a lost key when they or someone else lose the key on a job. This was a big question to me when the truck got stolen, I had just put new 35" toyo MTs on it after a buddy used the truck to tow his 08 F250 to SEMA in Vegas. I thought for sure that someone had made a copy of the key when it was at the shop getting new tires put on it. After tons of research on craigslist looking for my sheot that was on the truck I had no luck. After about 3 weeks i received a payout check and went and bought an 08 F450. 5 days later I got a phone call from RWC police department saying they had found my truck. It was parked about 10 blocks away from my house in an abandoned lot. I went down to the tow yard to find my truck was stripped of rims/tires, navigation, and anything valuable in the truck. Since I had already been payed out on the truck it wasnt such a loss but what pissed me off the most is they took all 6 of my drop hitches that had different size balls and drops to them. Someone stole the truck and just stripped what they saw easy to take. The reason i say this is because the truck had a Fabtech lift, and full stainless exhaust, the only thing they took from the two were the 5" tip, and shocks. My navigation was gone but the GPS antenna was still on the roof. It was a quick steal and strip. Also, when I got there, the door lock was popped and the ignition had a screw driver in it. Sorry to hear about your loss, I miss the fuel mileage of the last truck, considering this one gets a whooping 9.5 mpg!
