If you wanted to improve on a factory system and wanted to still be on a budget, , ,Would it be possible to buy just one Larger 4 channel amp, say 1000-1400 watts, and use it to hook up all of the speakers instead of buying multiple amps?
Can that one larger amp be used to power 4 ea 6" speakers, + 2 ea tower speakers + a sub or two?
If so how would you do it?
Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated

If you are running 1400 watts, believe me...
you'll want more than four channels.
Plus the way amps are priced, 1400watts would actually cost you more than 2 x 700watts

Best thing for you would be a bazooka.
Its a cheap way to add a sub.

The next level would be a 4-channel + a sub
Hook in your rear interior speakers to two channels and bridge the remaining two channels for the sub. That way you get some power for the mids and highs and add some bass.
Then, get a second four channel for your fronts and tower speakers.

im thinking about swapping out my 600.4 with a 800.4, 100 more watts to the sub (bridging 2 channels)and 100 more watts in reserve for the tower speakers, keeping the 400.4 for the 4 boat speakers = less wiring then adding another amp just for the towers
I like the idea but you will need more then 1- 4 channel but could get away with it for a while since you will have no problem hearing the stereo in the boat from the tower speakers
