I have been trying to get some spins and I just cant seem to break the fins loose on my board.
We did a roam surf set yesterday (really fun, a little hard to keep with the wave but doable...) and I could do FS 180's pretty easily.

Any suggestions on how to break the fins loose or initiate the spin?

PS I rid a LF skimSkate 5'0

If it has 3 fins, remove the center fin.

When you start your spin be sure you have some speed coming down the line. Then to initiate your spin turn up the wake, crouch down, and drag your back hand (or both hands if you still need more force to break the fins loose). as you come around look over your sholder toward boat and that spin you around 360. As soon as you come around start pumping and that should hopefully get you to do a 3 and stay in the wave. I hope this will help.
