I think that in alot of the vids and stuff we see, they have the timing slowed down slightly, making it apear that the riders have alot more time in the air. I may be wrong, but I think that may be right. The pros do hit it hard and go big, but I think that if you are getting 4-5 you should be able to accomplish most tricks.

Also some of the pros are riding with 4000 lbs of ballast in the boat.....always helps!

To me, going big is more important than being able to accomplish a tech trick. ie I would rather see some one get 8-9 feet of air and do a big grabbed 180 then see someone do a crow mobe with 4-5 feet of air. That is if you can do a crow mobe with that much air.

Josh, the honest truth is: Fundamentals and upper body stregnth. The wake doesnt really matter that much. Ive seen these cats go massive on pretty weak wakes. They know how to load the line up hard, and they have the stregnth to carry that tremendous load without getting the handle ripped away from their body. Pretty much all there is to it.

Yea Jason, I was on the boat that was pulling Eric Ruck at a demo, there was no ballast in the boat and he was still getting between 10-15 feet of air on every hit. He hit a HS nose glide and i swear he went higher than 20 feet up (not a double up). The water was very rough also. It was just crazy the amount of air he was getting. I ask how he got that high and he said that you just need to learn to fully cut through the wake and just stand tall. He said that that is really all it comes down to.

Our secret is Huge wake and long ropes here are few wake shots. Drifting always helps you look like you are going bigger than you are too. (Message edited by andy nintzel on April 04, 2007)

This is a pic of me at the beginning of last summer. You dont need huge wakes to get big air. As you can see from the pic or wake wasnt that big.

i had a friend who said that the cleanest Scarecrow he had ever done was behind a little reinell without a tower... big wakes are nice tho. makes things a lot more effortless. doing things behind a x-star with 4,000 lbs of ballast is a lot easier than doing things behind a little ski boat

I just bought the parks last year and the way it comes off the wake is very nice, and by nice i mean abrupt and awesome. Your air time for sure has to do with your wake size. Not to say that you can't get sweet air from a normal wake and good form, but obviously you will go so much bigger on a large wake. Here are some pics i took at a tourney in the ozarks. You are probably searching for this air right. Well, Practice, buy the new xstar, and ride like you dream. (Keep in mind the last three are rusty) http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j178/jetpilotz/749734-R1-000-54A.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j178/jetpilotz/749735-R1-013-5.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j178/jetpilotz/749734-R1-080-38A.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j178/jetpilotz/749734-R1-072-34A.jpg (Message edited by jetpilotz on April 04, 2007)

Thanks Luke. That is a trick that i still havent been able to figure out what it is. Here is the original pic which I like better but is alittle blurry. This trick looks alot like a scarecrow but I take off heelside. I will have to find the video of me doing this trick and see if anyone can tell me what it is. http://jaypage.com/pics/100_0275.JPG And to andy, Those pics are from where? You said Ozarks. Like Table Rock or Lake of the Ozarks?

Lake of the Ozarks, sorry, im used to missouri. I'm not sure of the name of the tournament but it was last summer. Do those picture links work? sometimes photobucket won't let you view them unless you sign in, and they are too big to put on here and I haven't had time to crop them. A couple of them have rusty way way up there so let me know if those links don't work and i'll crop them. Jay-Tablerock huh? i'm jealous man that lake rocks. When you leave the wake on your mystery trick, do you rotate over your lead shoulder, or do your feet go up first?

Andy, the links worked for me. Rusty is like 13 feet up on some of those, nuts. Oh, ya jay which way are you rotating in the pic? You should find the vid and put it up for us to check out.

Actually I dont go fakie with it. I take off heelside and land heelside. It looks like a cross between a s-bend and a front. Also are they having that tourny there again this summer? Who puts it on? Anyways Bob if you can clear both wakes just fine with the rope the length it is try letting it out another 5 ft and go from there. The longer rope will give you more hang time. Also work on your progressive edge towards the wake.
