Does anyone know what the % rate is for Solano County, I got a form that I have to fill out and return to county assessors office.

Not sure about Solano, but Sonoma county is 1 to 1 1/2 percent of the determined value. I would imagine Solano would be very similar.

Most county's it is between 1 and 1.5% tax. Because I do most of my boating on the Colorado River I registered in AZ and pay more in reg fees but don't have to pay an unsecured property tax that CA charges. It would run my $600+ a year on my boat in CA and reg fee of $9, but in AZ I registered as a non resident for $259 a year. Over a 5 year period I will save a ton, then re-register in CA when they will not charge me a tax on my boat. Either way it is BS that CA does this.

Get this not only will I need to pay 1% in our county but our city charges a $250 Use Fee! Bunch of crap. I may end up reg. the boat in the county in which our cabin is in.

Contra Costa County is about 1.23%. My friend from the next county over (which charges 1% tax) stored his boat at my dock a couple of summers ago. The boat was here for three month and he received a tax bill from Contra Costa County because the boat was being stored in the county. They must have people who cruise around in boats checking CF numbers.

Not sure about the percentages in KS but the personal property tax is outrageous. Costs about 250 a year and they probably put the value of my boat around 6500. So that'd be about 3.8%. Has me worried about what it's goin' to be in a couple years when I'm able to get the boat I want.
