Seeking info on failed cable park propositions

I remember hearing that a cable park was not going to be built after long consideration somewhere in California. I'm curious if anyone has information as to why that happened and if that has occurred anywhere else. What kind of obstacles have people encountered when proposing cable park facilities in their town? We're lobbying for one in Monroe, Washington right now--it is being received well by council members, which is encouraging but we still have some more meetings before the project is approved and we'd like to be equipped with as much information as possible.

I don't know specifics for each park that e was proposed and then hung up but I do remember issues around water rights and environmental impact: a huge hurdle here in CA. Some of the environmental impact studies were so expensive it cost prohibitive to proceed.

There was supposed to be one in San Diego, but to no avail. Google "San Diego Cable Park" and you can get all the scoops and potentially find the website for contact info. There were all kind of rumors as to why not, i.e. funding ran out, wrong economic times, etc.
