I love that "Hey I made it!" startle for folks
It does tend to make you lose track of your position on the wake.
If you are over-rotating - the sensation will be that the tail is out past your butt...stand up sooner. You should enter the rotation slightly bent at the knees, standing up stops the rotation pretty quick. This is VERY important on a Trick Boardz.
If your rotation is solid, but the size of your rotation is big (large circle), get it in your mind to start pumping right away.
If you just can't get the rotation down - where you are drifting out the back before coming around, try pushing outward with your rear foot - sort of kicking the tail around.
I got a chance to sneak a peek at Drew's video and I have to say that it's really good. M&M watersports showcases some wakeurfing tips and Drew does a great job of explaining the "points" to success. The only thing I would add is watch carefully where he places the nose of the board on the wake. The nose is just barely over the peak. Worth checking it out and watching Drew's body position.
