I'm in the market for my first wakeboard boat. I'm looking at a max price of upper 20s. I want a boat where 6 or 7 can ride comfortably in a boat that throws a good wake without slamming it with a ton of weight. I know zero about the wakes thrown by different hull designs. My son is progressing from a beginner to intermediate skill level.

Boats that I have been looking at are Sunsetter VLX (1998-2001), Centurian Elite V (2000-2001), MC Maristar 23'(1998-1999), Mobias & Outback (both DD)(2000-2001), Tige 21i (2000-2001), Wakesetter DD (2000-2001). I 'm looking at these because they would fit in my price range and seating ability.

Please help. I've done all the research I know to do and now it's starting to overwhelm me. I know the best way is to test drive them, but I would like some starting point because the nearest place in 2 hours away. Most boats I've seen are 4 to 6 hours away, so I would like to have a good idea before taking the haul.

Sorry for the long read.

Every boat you named can be had for less than $25k in excellent condition, BTW.

If you have a limit of upper 20's, I would go V-drive for sure.

Of the above the only boat that will satisfy all of your requirements is the Sunsetter VLX.

The one boat that you might want to add, or at least take a look is a MC 205V. It might be a little tight with 7 adults, but if kids are included in that number you will be fine. It throws one of the best wakes out there and it gets better with added weight. I would go V-Drive as well, If you dont now, you will probably be upgrading in a few years.

I found a 2000 Super Air Nautique for 28k in November, there are deals like that out there.

i would think this boat would be right up your alley.

here's a 205V

Anyway, if you are just trying to stay under 30k, you'll find a ton of options and you can definitely get into a great vDrive at that price.

Thanks guys. I forgot about the 205V. Love that boat and would probably through the best wake of what I have listed. I would prefer a 2000 or later 205V just for the extra seating.

Ian, thanks for the lookups. I should probably mention that I am from south AL.
