Hey everyone, I'm looking for last minute advice about the setup I'm about to sink some cash into... Please let me know if you see any problems or glaring holes as I am not the stereo buff.

Boat: '97 Wellcraft Excel, 5.7l

Planned stereo purchase:

1 Kicker S10L52 - Solo-Baric L5 10" Subwoofer 2ohm DVC

1 Kicker KX800.4 Amp - Watts 200 x 4

1 Pair: Evid 6.2 ProAudio Speakers for Tower - 150W Cont./600W Peak

1 Kicker 04KX700.5 Amp - 85W x 4

2 Pair: MB Quart DKE-116 4 Ohms 50 -120Watts 6-1/2" Two-Way Loudspeaker

1 Sony CDX-MP80 CD Receiver

Altogether about 2k. Not much for some but enough for me...

---------

I plan to run the eVid tower speakers with the 800.4 amp and leave the 700.5 amp for the 4 MB Quart speakers inside the boat and the sub.

In addition to any recommendations/warnings you might have about that setup, is it likely that I will need a secondary battery etc for that amount of power (I usually don't sit with the engine off for more than an hour at a time)?

Thanks in advance for any tips... I'd rather not screw this up.

It's been my experience that 2 batteries is almost a requirement with any stereo even above average. If you sit with your stereo cranked for an hour your boat WILL NOT start. If you can, i would get a battery selector so that if you want to sit and jam for a while you can turn it to one battery and still switch it to the other battery or both to start the boat.
