Is it a good idea to go with no ballast in order to charge the wake harder. The wake on our boat (x9) is a bit intimidating. I am still trying to get my proggresive edge down. I feel I may have a mental block when the wake is big. Sometimes I get great pop, but usally I'm not stoked on my jumps. Any suggestions?

Try compromising. Fill up your ballast but not all the way. That way you'll have a descent wake but it wont be so intimidating. Another thing is you dont want to charge the wake while your trying to get your progressive edging down, you want to take it slow and practice gradually increasing the edge as you aproach the wake. Try that out and see if it works for you.
