We were coming back from Mammoth this winter and spotted a sign for lake Silverwood at the Mt. High resort turnoff. I checked it out on the net and it looks decent. I was wondering if anyone had ever ridden there or had any info. on it. I called and they allow wakeboarding but you just have to get a reservation if you want to use the lake or camp. We are thinking of giving it a try to check it out. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

We went one time last summer. Its a pretty small lake. We were there on a weekend...extremely busy and very windy...the wind channels through the mountains there.

If you do go, definitely make a reservation..the line to get in that morning for standby was backed up pretty far.

Dennis,

I'll ditto socaldave's comments. I have been there once. It was windy, and very busy with lots of PWC traffic. No gas at the lake when we were there also. That was on a weekend, may not be as bad during the week. We do not have plans to go back any time soon.

I have been to Silverwood a few times. it is a beautiful lake but it is small. I have been told it can get very crowded but I went about a month ago and it was right before Memorial day weekend (pre-season) and it was enjoyable. We didn't see any beaches where you could put up an EZ up or anything though. We just hung out on the boat. They don't allow inner tubing which was too bad. Can wake board but no use of ballast allowed if I remember correctly.
