Yeah innovation lets make our boats bigger, cost more, and use more fuel in a market that is unstable in the current economy. It makes perfect sense.

hahaha Mike well atleast you admit that MC did copy Cobalt with the pickle fork design. Maybe MC should put some more money into designing a tower that you don't have to order those little braces to keep it from shaking. That would be a little smarter that a boat with a pisser in it.

That is a good point ryan considering clearly Tige leads the industry in tower design! Lol......

Yes it did have a head, but I think the purpose of this thread is to say that Tige is about to have a boat with a head.

hahaha u all talk about tige copying towers and the pickle fork thing and none of you notice that tige was the first to put a trim tab(taps) on the boats and pretty much every wake boat has one now. Mike your right tige didn't design the alpha Z tower metcraft did and sold it to them after Malibu decided not to use it. tige was also the first to mold in a bench(activity center) across the transome of the boats and i'm pretty sure i see one on that x55 and a lot of other boats. the only point that i'm trying to make is that all manufactured take ideas from each other to better their boat and sell more. its all about whats going to attract more customers.
Old     (polarbill)      Join Date: Jun 2003       09-07-2008, 9:04 PM Reply
Tige just does it more oftern and more blatantly than others.
Old     (knarbar)      Join Date: Nov 2006       09-08-2008, 4:02 PM Reply
Look how deep the hull is. The head is more than likely recessed into the hull and is located behind the passanger seat. Plus MC designs each boat for a specific purpose. I do like Malibu, Tige, Nautique, so dont take this as bashing please because there all good companies. But unlike malibu, and a few other. MC does not take the same hull design and stretch it out 4 different sizes. Each hull and boat have a purpose. Xstar (wakeboard specific), CSX (cross sport xtreme), X14 (universal family ski and wakeboard boat). Versus malibu who will take wakesetter hull and stretch it out from a 20' all the way to there 247 which all have the same hull. MC tries unique things with there boats whether it stems from another companies product or not. They take the idea and revolutionize it. Cant hate on em for that
Old     (formfunction)      Join Date: Jun 2008       09-08-2008, 4:55 PM Reply
I wouldn't call a head and a fishing boat unique.I think in there quest for more profitable markets they lost sight of the true wakeboard enthusiast.

Brock,

Take a pull behind a CSX w/ballast and let me know if they lost sight of the wakeboard enthusiast.
Old     (chicagomastercraft)      Join Date: Sep 2008       09-08-2008, 5:17 PM Reply
Brock, how have they lost focus? MasterCraft released two awesome new hulls in the 2006 X-2 and the 2006 X-15.

The x-2 is probably one of the roomiest boats that is 20ft and is another awesome all around boat!

The x-15 has gone on to be one of the best selling boats here in the midwest. This is a awesome wakeboard boat and a pretty sweet surf boat!

Then you have the Xstar, arguably the best wakeboarding boat designed. This boat is WAKEBOARD specific.

Ya in the rewind 08 dvd from MC Andrew Adkison kills it behind a CSX and even watching the vid you can see how CLEAN the wake is behind a CSX.

Brock,

You're right. Mastercraft has lost touch with hardcore wakeboard fans. Time to kill the X-star and pull the sponsorship from the PRO WAKEBOARD TOUR! what a joke.
Old     (formfunction)      Join Date: Jun 2008       09-08-2008, 7:17 PM Reply
They already sold you out by producing a boat with a freakin head. There pushing there product out of your price range and into that of a group more interested in cruising and looking cool. There going for a different market that doesn't include you and if you can't see that your blind. But who knows, maybe you want a glitter covered bass boat with a head for a hundred grand.

MasterCraft is working to meet the demands of a growing customer base, all while maintaining a focus on what has brought the company to where it is today!

Being a "World Record Tow Boat". If MasterCraft can make the sickest, coolest, best wake boat on the market, and have room to put a head in it......WHY NOT!

Change is here!

I am weighting for the cabin cruiser/wake boat that has a water bed that doubles as a ballast.

Guess some people dont do well with innovation and or callaboration. Look at freakin cars these days guys. Some of the new SUV's turn into a freakin tent and have built in ice chests not to mention now you can talk on your cell phone through the stereo. Yet you guys wana bash a company for putting a pisser on a boat. Get over it, if you dont like it keep buying what you like and be your own person.

Nick, they were close here, I'm sure there is a a holding tank for the head that doubles as ballast. Just think of the wake that thing could have with 2000lbs of water, 500lbs of lead, and 100lbs of peepee and poopoo.

innovation OR CALABORATION= either or. Doesnt mean i said a toilet in a boat is innovative. More or less talking about the company as a whole. Heres some company history for those of you who like to hate. This is what it means to be a innovative company.

1)1976= Mastercraft installs first muffler for quieter exhaust

2)1977 Mastercraft introduces the first tripple fin skagg and first fiberglass seats

3)1984=Mastercraft originates the Pro Tour

4)1994=Mastercraft introduces the first adjustable drivers seat

5)1999 Mastercraft delivers the first tapered bottom fuel cell for advanced fuel delivery

6)2000 Mastercraft introduces the first teak swim platform

7)2003 Single engine Maristar 280 debuts and is THE ONLY INBOARD named Boating Magazines Boat of the Year

8)2004 The first twin engine inboard is introduced on the market (X80 STS)

9)2007 Mastercraft introduces the CSX (Cross Sport Xtreme)

Thats not even half of the innovative things theyve done either. Just a few. Thats 40 years of innovative ideas theyve done that changed the industry. Now because they're going further and trying new things theyre all of a sudden a bad company. Not everyone is going to like theyre ideas. Thats what makes life great. Were not all the same. But come on now guys for once quit bashing

Mike,
My point was not that mastercrafts suck,in fact I am going to ride one this weekend.I simply don't like the stigma that comes with the boat,Nobody likes the superiority complex of most owners and I don't think wakeboats and fishing boats should be made by the same company. This boat with a head makes even less sense to me and only adds to the already gargantuan price tag.Do you ever find yourself needing a toilet when boarding? If you did would you crap in a tank on your wakeboat knowing full well you have to empty it?It's not a damn rv its a freakin wakeboat and mastercrafts are slowly going out of most peoples price range. If it hasn't gone out of yours it eventually will but from the looks of it you already can't afford a new boat.Don't feel bad though I own a used boat also.

O.K. Brock,

I agree that I don't need a toilet, but that doesn't mean the whole boat sucks. As far as used boats...I have boat 3 boats in the last 4 years...all of them new. My 06 was bought in 07 and was new. I don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Trust me...as soon as mine sells, I will have a new boat. I have already started shopping around.

It appears to me that the people complaining are not married.

Put a head on the boat and the wife says "yes"!

MC knows who ultimately makes the decision :-)

And don't slam the 255 until you've been on it. Beautiful boat for customers that don't ride 100% of the time.
