I'll be getting a spare tire for my single axle trailer...what can I expect to pay?

If the dealer is asking more than about $150 for the spare tire and mount than you can buy them both on your own from West Marine or some other place for about the same price.

John,

are you wanting the MasterCraft stock wheel? I think they are around $215 with tire if I remember right. A friend with an '02 MC told me last year, but I can't remember exactly.

I went looking on Labor Day weekend last year, I blew a tire and the MC dealer was the only place that had one my size, 215 75r14. On an MC aluminum rim, for $365 I passed. I bought one from Ski Central on the same rim as on my trailer for about 150$. Mount was 25$.

Don't skimp on the tire on a single axle, car tires can't handle more than about 1350 lbs ea. Trailer tires are good to about 1750 lbs ea, you could be close even with trailer tires with enough crap in the boat.

why would anyone spend $300 on a spare tire for your trailer, www.championtrailerparts.com highest price for tire alone is $95 and rims range from $30 to $100, combos from $75 to $180 (and that was for a LT235 85R16 on a galvanized rim)jeez you people must realy have money to blow?? bought a spare for my trlr at west marine.
Oh yea dont even try to hit me back with: its beter quality cause it wont stand.
