I had a bad experience with progressive. I had a vehicle that totaled and had a real hard time getting them to pay. I canceled them after I got paid.

Try to get a Marine Agent for your boat. Avoid the "Home and Auto" companies. BoatU.S., Twin Rivers in Antioch, West Mar in Stockton.

Just switched to Geico-ski safe, 300/year for an 06 V-ride with decent limits.

363 a year in Minneapolis through Progressive. My policy spells out an amount that they will pay, instead of them just "replacing" it, so I went over and above what the NADA is for a few dollars more.

1% of the total insured value is usually a good target.

I pay $478/year. I have higher liabilty coverages. Inssured value is $42k.

FYI, Ski-safe has a 3 month lay-up period in most of there coverages.

I have always used BOAT/US.

$500 deductible, $300K liability. The rate on all the boats I have insured has always come in at ~ 1% of the boats value, so if you have a $60,000 boat the insurance will be about $600

Make sure you get medical coverage. You can claim wakeboarding injuries on you boat insurance as long as you have medical. I have State Farm with $5,000 worth of medical coverage per claim. I’ve had 2 torn ACL’s in the past year and they are picking up 100% of my out of pocket expenses which was over 2 grand on my first surgery. This included doctor appointments and physical therapy. My upcoming surgery will be less because I have better health insurance now. I had no idea about this until someone let me know a couple of months ago so I made the claim, sent State Farm the bills, and they sent me check for the full amount!

i think specifics of your policy might help others out. for example, someone just telling me they pay $400 a year doesnt tell me too much. i am wondering this because i was paying full replacement value and my policy is around $900. i need to go get my policy and find out what the expensive part is. whatever it is, i need to change it!!!
