Just got back from wakeboarding in Wisconsin in December. This is a great resurrected event - Freeze4Life which is a fundraiser for cancer and a local foundation. It was very well run and the sponsors were great (Summerset Marine, Lake Geneva Board Shop, Mastercraft, Barefoot International, etc.). I am curious to know how much they made - when I was there someone wrote a check on the spot for $1000! It was such an exhilarating experience to ride again after two months of cold weather. It will help get me through the long cold months ahead! I was sorry that Jen couldn't make it due to the elements not cooperating (her garage door was frozen shut!). Also, Annie was there so it was good to catch up on Worlds and her snowboarding escapades (bruises anyone?!). Thanks to Annie I have some pics of myself! Please enjoy the photos below.
Woohoo! I'm still reeling from the adrenaline rush! Geri & Kat - enjoy the 75 degree riding. That's is awesome that you were able to get together. It's not an official gang meeting but have fun!
Ray, Chris and Joe - thanks! I love wakeboarding so it wan't tough to convince me to jump in. You can see the ice built up on the drysuit and life vest. I had to thaw out before I could get help unzipping it! There were so many people signed up to ride we almost ran out of daylight. I will update with total amount raised once it is announced.
I guess now I am officially in the "off-season"... or is it the "PRE-season"!! 103 days until we summerize!
It was in Lake Geneva by the border to IL. Get to know the people at Lake Geneva Board Shop - they host some great events wake and snow. I know it is a cruise for you but probably worth it! When the season re-opens you are always welcome to come ride with me on the Fox River in Cary, IL. I'm always looking to get more girls on the boat!
Driving to ride is ALWAYS worth it to me! I would love to get out with some other girl riders, i ride with a crew of guys (not that i don't love them) but would definitely appreciate some female ridding time!
