I finally found a hoist for my boat, now all I have to do it move it and install it. I have to remove it from the slip it is in, put it on a trailer, drive it 50 miles north and get it into my slip. Any advice? Here's some pics of it with the previous owner's boat on it. The previous owner's boat was a 2002 21i and I have a 2005 24V.

Seems like you have it figured out, what's the question?

easy, those lifts float, tow it over to a ramp, put it on a big trailer (tie it down)...and I would say very early morning. You'll get the sun when you get to the destination.

my friends are selling one in the delta in a slip if anyone wants the slip too. its in lindquist landing. they're asking 3K. i think its a 6000lb lift but not sure.

anyway just curious what you paid.

Is it same lake, just 50 miles by road? If same body of water, how far by water? I see people towing lifts, docks, boathouses up and down the lake all the time.

I had read previously some pretty stern warning that they aren't as easy to move as people think (http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/572952.html). I got this one for $1,500. Anyone think/know what I'll have to do with the bunks to go from a 21i to 24V?

I think the 50 miles by land would be easier and faster to do then the 30 miles by water.

Yeah, our lake is only about 17 miles with about 90% of the development in the lower 10.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you will have to do anything to the bunks. Your going from one inboard to another. And yes towing a hoist is not the easiest. I would have done it once and will pay someone to do it next time. It took 3 hours to tow one the distance it normally takes is 15 minutes to drive the boat across the bay
