I am in the market for a wakeboarding boat. Well, I will probably be purchasing the boat before next season. The problem is that I have a budget predicament. I will be able to save around $8,000. Anyone have any suggestions for what I should be looking to buy?

Is the 8k a down payment or what you want to pay total?

You might want to look for an older Mastercraft Tri Star of Pro Star in the early to late 80's. You should be able to find something with about 700-800 hours on it in good shape.

I'm actually not sure how much I can save. Maybe up to $12,000. What can I get for the 8-12k range. I'd be using it on the river, so if i could manage a jet boat, that'd be great. (I don't know much about wakeboarding other than how to do it). I just need some ideas about what to look for. - BR

brian, if wakeboarding is entering into the equation at any point, don't get a jet boat. find a good used inboard. you'll be surprised at what you can find.
