I was wondering if resistor spark plugs would or could cut down on engine related noise in sound system's

Yes, we used to do lots of street rods and pre 70 cars that would run non resistor plugs and would almost always get noise. Cheap plug wire will also cause noise.

Most modern plugs are resistor plugs anyway. You might also try a suppressor on the alternator output and suppression on other 12vdc devices that use the same source. I had to put a supressor on my depth finder 12vdc to get rid of clicking noise. It is better to do it that way than to use RCA ground isolators, they affect the sound slightly.
