I was wondering specifically what type of LED's are folks using for in boat accent lighting. Superbrightleds makes an oval unit in either a 4 or 6 light configuration. With these installed halfway up from the floor to the seat, do they shine directly in your eyes if sitting in the seat across? I have seen some nice pics but no specifics or close up pics in daylight. I do not believe I am looking for the 3 light downcast that many use over cupholders because theY look cheap installed in the open in my opinion. They work fine hidden.

I know that there are vendors other than Superbright. If they have something else, please be specific.

No they won't. you will see the light a bit more if you are across from them but they won't be too bright for your eyes. Think of them like a laser pointer. They are only hard on the eyes if you are on the same level as them. I have the pods you are talking about and they are fine. I have bought a tonne of stuff from super bright and have never had an issue. They seem to have the most variety.

I just used the 3-LED things they sell at wal-mart in the trailer section...they've worked great so far, and they're dirt cheap

I used some of those 5 light blocks like they show on the led-concepts. This format was originally designed for illuminating computer cases. After one summer only 1 of the 5 still worked. My boat cover creates static electricity which kills lots of LEDs even though it does look kind of cool when they flash as you are putting the boat cover on.

There are lots of other formats available, I would like to find a nice low profile side illumination light other than the blocks.
