I have some mako quick release racks. When there are two boards in one rack and in rough water they tend to spin around the mounting point. Has anyone else had this problem? I heard they might be recalled but im not sure, just seeing if anyone knew whats up

Ryan,

Typically this is due to having the incorrect bushings. I would measure your tower again and get the correct bushings.

Ryan, I had the same issue, I talked to a rep at Mako, and they said it was due to inconsistent sized tower tubing (Rad-A-Cage) just for reference.

What if found as the solution was to cut a piece of bicycle inner tube and wrap it around the tower then installing bushing over the inner tube.

Good luck, E

ps - wash the inner tube down with a little soap and water, the come out of the box with some type of powder on them.

You can also use one layer of cloth tape to hold them in place. Much thinner than a bicycle inner tube, unless you have to take up a lot of space.

Hey Ryan- get a hold of them and they will work something out for you without a hassle.
