So I have a M.C x-2 05 now a x-1 since they make fork fronts on the new x-2's but I'm trying to make the weight even in the boat I have the basic tanks in there 500 in the back and then 300 in the middle, I have two extra 500 sacks then a 800pounder and 250. Now usuallly u want more weight in the front to be able to plain out the boat when your going normal speed (25mph) so If anybody has any ideas about where I should place the weight please let me know thanx
I've found that a 50/50 or 60/40 rear to front ratio works good with this hull. i would put a 500 pounder on the floor behind the drivers seat, the 250 in the left/rear part of the boat...on the seats (you can move that one preatty easy to balance out the boat as needed). then i would put a 500 sac up front in the walk way, filled up as much as possible (probably get 300 - 400 lbs maybe). then the 800 sac one in the bow all the way full as far towards the front of the boat as possible. you should have an awesome wake at about 26 mph.
i guess i'm not familiar with how the stock ballast is set up in that model...are the tanks under the floor or do they take up most of the space on each side of the engine?
there in both back compartments I can fit a sack in between the tank and the engine but its a tight space. Thanx for the input yea I know most of the time u have to have more weight in the front then the back but with 3 different kind of sacks its hard to figure out where to put them and to have a perfect wake at the same time, thanx again
FYI, the back tanks come in at about 186 lb each. Most people take them out and put two 750 lb fat sacs back there. They fit in that space perfect and you can store a wakeboard in the compartment when they are empty.
I use to run roughly 1200 in the back compartments, 300 in the ski locker, and roughly 400+ in the nose. I tried to get a 60/40 back/front ratio.
You may as well look at upgrading your prop if you have the factory and plan on running a lot of weight. MC started using the OJ 14.25x14.5 in 07 and it makes a big difference. Others have run the ACME wakeboard prop as well.
Honestly this boat likes weight in the front. so the closer to 50/50 the better. When your front bow eye is in the water sitting still then you have just enough.
i run the ACME 1235 prop...i highly recommend it. you will plain out with no problem. lol, just be careful when you are slowing down with all the weight.
Holy hell that is a lot of weight. The boat only weighs about 3200 doesn't it. You put 3800 plus people. I wanna see a pic of that thing in the water. I am sure it would fit in the category of slammed.
check out the link in his profile o wakesiderides. That is definatly slammed and it doesn't even look like he has the 750 pound sack in front, just a few girls who probably add up to a little over 300 pounds. That wake looks damn nice and big.
this pic is just with the 2 600's, KGB, and the bow sac, plus 8 people. there might actually be 120 in lead on the floor in the bow. i definitely need to get one with the additional 2-750's and 2-250's in it.
