I have a black boat/grey boat with the black proflight tower and was looking to find a black tower mirror mount. But, can't seem to find one anywhere. Might have to make it myself. Anybody ever seen such a thing. All I ever seem to find is the polished alum. type.

If it's milled aluminum you could also have it black anodized.

Ant,

I have an aluminum ProFlight arm that I've never used that is for sale. All it would need is a black powdercoat. Let me know if you want it.

So I contacted Proflight and sounds like they are having issues with the black powder coated mirror mounts. Seems to be an issue with the articulating arm and rubbing the powder coat off or something. He said they were trying some things out and had some parts out to be anodized. But I see grey anonodized alum. at work and it does not hold up to UV. I agree with Allen. Anodized is not the answer for the long term. Also asked them about a black flag holder. Said they could have one painted. Being that the flag holder doesn't have any moving parts, why not powder coat those? Does anybody else offer these items?

For what it cost to get mine powder coated ($10) I wasn't concerned about rub wear.

10 Bucks? I was quoted $300 by this place in Modesto. I wouldn't be concerned about it either if it only cost 10 bucks.

Why not powder coat all but the tube part where the plastic clamp "grabs" it, and leave that section polished.

That works well for the Monster Tower mount like Dave, but you still have the rubbing problem on an articulating arm like Proflight.

$300 is ridiculous....

$300 is insane...I smell rip off. Take it somewhere else. I got a good deal because the place I took mine did it with a ton of oter stuff they were doing in white, but it should be nowhere near that expensive.
