I need to purchase a new board and I can't determine which one to get. I've narrowed it down to the HL Coex and Broadcast, mostly due to price.

My old board was a 5' LF Skimskate. I never had any trouble riding it, but I'd like to know if either or both of these boards are a little easier to catch the wave in. I'd rather go with the Coex since it is smaller, but my girlfriend could never really catch the wake with the Skimskate and I'm looking for something just a little bit easier to ride.

i've been riding on hyperlite surfboards since 03. I ride the coex now, im 170 lbs, and ride behind an 24ft enzo. The 4'8" broadcast might be the option, fun, fast and pretty easy to ride. If you want to get into spins, remove, replace, or just change fin set up.

So a beginner should have no problems on the Coex as opposed to the old Skimskate?

I have 03 landlock (same as 5'6" broadcast) and i haven't rode a board that turns as well as that one. Super fast too, since the rail is super thin.

If you are looking for a good all around board for your boat and can get it for a good price I would go with a 4'-8" Broadcast. If you are paying full price I would consider spending a little more on a higher end board. We have a Broadcast on our boat, it is a good board for people to learn on b4 we let them on the high end boards.

What are the advantages and disadvantages between the coex 4'4" and the broadcast 4'9"? I am 5'11" and 165 lbs, but I would say others that I ride with are heavier. Suggestions???

There is not a HUGE difference in the two but, the bigger board will cover a larger range of people. Plus you can configure the fins and ride the Broadcast as a single, twin or tri fin.

I ordered the 4'9" Broadcast. Seemed like a good compromise. I'll probably post back once I get a chance to ride it.
