hey all - think i found a buyer for my baby... they are leaving canada tomorrow (saturday) morning...and headed this way to check it out. it's around a 20 hour drive one way so i'm assuming they are serious. they don't think they'll be able to get american cash in the amount i'm asking without ordering it way ahead of time - so they're wanting a certified check - i'm not realy down with that, but not sure what else to do cause they're on their way and i want to sell. any suggestions?? especially since it's a saturday/sunday that they'll be here??

also, i bought the boat last spring...i have the title for the trailer (boat has one too although my state doesn't require one) - but i never had the trailer title transferred over to my name. i signed it as a buyer and the seller signed it - will that work to get them across?? ANY help or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks!

well honestly with all the fraud going on today I would be worried. You can't even see if the check will clear sense it is a weekend, sounds risky.

I am a dealer and have sold a few boats in Canada over the last year. The only way I have accepted money through Canadians is in the form of a US bank draft, and funds have been good each time. The border will want a purchase agreement with the buyers name on it and I am not sure that a title will work by itself unless it has the new owners name on it. If you do not have a purchase agreement you can go to uslegalforms.com and download whatever you need. I would absolutely not let it go without verifying funds.(I am not an attorney so understand that this is only based on my very own past experiences) Did I mention VERIFY THE FUNDS!!!!!!!!
