just bought 08 byerly monarch, what can i expect?

have never ridden one but have been fascinated with it since i read about it. i have heard people say they like it for soft landings (primarily why i bought it). what other characteristics does it possess? thanks.

I really liked it when I rode it, and it was only a few laps at OWC... if I didn't get a slingshot what would have been my choice

Tons of kick strait up off the wake, Pretty fast for a 3-stage rocker, pretty much the best board ever.

I love mine. Good speed, great pop! Forgiving. Compared to your 08 Murray I would say it's poppier, a little faster, a little less forgiving, and much lighter. I love the new Murray though just for the way it feels carving around and it's forgiveness.

the monarch is my BOC right now. i was riding the roam for 4 years and decided i wanted a little more bite. i tried a few boards out and the hardest thing for me was every board with fins was way slower. when i rode the monarch i immediately knew that it was perfect. it is the fastest "normal" board i have ridden. also tracks very well when on edge but releases and can be loose when not on edge or leaving the wake. soft landings. light as hell.
