Hello:

Can someone suggest the best 'economical' wakeboard boat. Malibu has a 'V' and 'I' series, but they are still in the $40,000 range. Anything cheaper available?

Thanks.

But I think most new inboard boats are around 40 grand these day with any options.

What's your definition of "economical"? Economical to purchase, to maintain, to operate, to insure, etc.

Look in the used 5 yrs or older boat section. There are plenty in there for under $30k if you're looking at purchase cost.

Moomba mobius LSV or outback V, Centurion Falcon V, Tige Z1, Sanger V210, Centurion Elite V.

I Don't think there is such thing as a new Vdrive with any options for under 40k. The Sanger V210 or Moomba outback V you could probably get with a decent amount of options for around 40k. Especially since they should be putting the 08 models on closeout right about now.

I paid less than 30k for my Centurion T-5 Air Warrior. It is direct drive, so not wakeboard specific, but it is a good all around boat.

there is not an economical boat out there since we all know that BOAT stands for Bring Out Another Thousand.

if you're lookin for a "value-NEW" boat, check out moomba. if your lookin to get the best boat you can for around the high 30's-low 40's range...get a used 210, older xstar/205 hull, older vlx, or hell you can get a couple years old supra.

if you're defining "economical" in fuel consumption terms...get a sail boat because just about everything that is a ski/wakeboard boat is going to suck in this area. obviously you can make some choices that would help though. such as getting a boat with a smaller engine (ie not the 8 something liter engines) and don't use ballast...but the trade off is of course...small wake.

but overall from what I've been able to tell, the best "economical" boat would be YOUR FRIENDS BOAT(S). based on all of my friends who ride with me haha

It's "Break Out Another Thousand" Bring?? LOL. Sanger V210 or a couple year old Super Air Nauty 210 are among the most overall economical boats in that price range with a great weight to wake ratio.

Chopper wake boats, around 35k. They sell them at Rocklin Watersports.

Hi Guys:

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I have been checking boats on the Web and the Moomba and Sangers look good. Can't wait till the boat show here to see some in person.

Good boarding....

Bought a 2008 Moomba Outback V this year with all options but heater and perfect pass, for a little over $40k and it is under warranty bow to stern for 7 years. Have loved every 110 hours so far.

(for clarification, Moomba has cruise control built-in, just not digital perfect pass)

Supreme - V208 or V220... pick one up without all of the goodies... and add them yourself... for under $40!

Yeah, you wont find anything V-drive for under 40K all said and done. And newer used boats are holding their value pretty tight. Its almost worth considering buying very used, like an early 2000's xstar or 205v in the 20K range. New boats are just too much damn money.

Oh, but for what its worth, theres a new moomba dealer on my lake, and I like those boats more and more every time I see them.

Buy a winch build some kickers and find a good drainage ditch. You can get in a V-Drive for around or just under 40k though. Just depends on the dealer. Just found out my Dealer's pickin' up Moomba yesterday. First time I've ever seen one up close in person and I was very impressed. The XLV's a sharp boat and I think he said he'd be able to move'em pretty much loaded up for close to 40.

He's a small dealership with very little over head too though. My VLX had pretty much every option but the heated seat, silent tip exhaust, two vent heater instead of three, and the 340vs. goin' up to the 380. Every other option's on it plus 4 WS pro 60's he installed for 60K.

How can you have a new engine already in a 2001 xstar?

Don't winterize your boat & see for yourself.

Makes you wonder since the guy says in the ad the boat is "Regluarly serviced".
