How do u create sequence shots in 1 file?

I'm wondering how do u create the sequence shots where a rider is in the same photos 5 times.

I have photoshop to use. So u cut out the rider and there share of the background (1/5) and paste them all togehter? or do u select 1 good pic with a background and cut out all the riders and paste them on it it?

I really cant tell because some of the ones i've seen also have the water spray and everything. The take off and landings are there aswell, the trail and the spray are all there so to merge the differnt pics with the water to match the water seems hard. So to do a cut n paste job of that would be hard.

Another idea is to cuyt just outside the rider and try to match it to the suroundings.

How do u do it? I'm stumped
