I have a 2005 Straightline Thermal Line.

The 2005 is a 75' line (80' with handle).

It has three tie-offs at 65', 75' and 80' (including handle).

65' feels too close to the boat and 75' feels too far. And it does not have a 70' tie-off.

So my question is...is there any way to add a tie-off at 70' without damaging the rope. Has anyone done this on their rope? Especially if you have a thermal line.

I know a lot of you are thinking, "Just tie a knot". Well I could do that, but that would probably damage the rope so I could never go back to 75' if someone wanted that length. Thermal lines do not like knots (at least the 05 does not, it causes the plastic to peal off).
