Looking at tower speakers I was wondering which was the option, a pair of Entity 1010's or a pair of Addictions?

The 1010s will be louder, the Addictions will sound a little better, not so bright. Either of the two are plenty loud to hear behind the boat.

Charles is right on.
However, in June of 05 NVS gave the Entity a diet pill and took nearly 4 lbs off the total weight and toned down the hi's a bit. No reduction on total output/volume.
Happy Holidays from NVS

I've had my 1010's for right at a year, they have performed better than expected and couldn't be happier, but with that said if the addictions were out back when I bought mine I'd probably go with them. two reasons: the 1010's can be ridiculously loud anything close to that (addictions) would do just fine for me, and they weigh less. Weight is an issue for me as I have two sets of board racks, lights and speaker's, when full with boards I have quite a bit of weight on my tower. I have an 04 22SSV (bought in June) and have a few spider cracks already forming.

Do you think a single 1010 would be adequate? I noticed an online company selling them in pairs or as a single piece. Is there a difference? I guess I ask, because it might be cheaper to have someone split a pair who also wants only one.

Eric, if you do a search on this board...you'll notice I tried to do the exact same thing, but couldn't find anyone. that was when they were on sale too....I also had one like Big Ed, and you cna hear it fine. The way I used to have mine set-up I had to turn both on independently of the remote turn on. someitmes I would forget to turn one on. and to be honest there is a little differnce with two but it's not that noticable. My guess is you get close to 80% of your sound from one....the seond pod adds only 20% more.
But 2 looks better IMO.

I'm not sure how often I am going to have to put the new tower up and down...doing that with 2 of those monsters might be tough, which is why I thought 1 might be best. Do they have a clamp that will fit a Monster tower? Not sure if I am going Monster or New Dimension yet though either.

Eric, check this thread out.
I made a quick release for about $50, one person can take down in less than 2 min.
