It makes a little wake, but it is really only good for surface tricks & practice stuff.

no. I have one and they are not good for beginners. It will work if you have nothing else.

I learned behind one. It all depends on how good the driver is. They have to make sure they ease into the throttle & that they know where the rider & their rope is.

but wont it be different since jetskis dont have cruise control while other boats do?

If you're used to driving a pwc, it's easy to hold a speed. If not, just practice first before pulling.

I used a Seadoo for my first 4 years of wakeboarding. No big airs, but you can learn the basics down solid. Ride switch all the time, practice ollies and then ollies to blind and then ollie 360s. If you are skilled in those facets, the wake-to-wake adjustment is relatively easy.
