A 1000 lbs will definitely help, but like Phil said, make sure you add some weight the the bow as well. Also, make sure your boat can handle the added weight. We added 1700-1900 lbs to a bayliner (no laughing!), and it was too much. Some boats just don't have the power to haul around that much weight, and tow a rider at the same time. If that's the case, you might find that putting a full sac in the rear, and the other sac, near full, in the bow (or forward area) will be the best combination. -Blake
