I was wondering if it is posible to wakesurfe with a regular surfe board.

Christian, no question is a stupid one, that is how we all learn!

Most of us who have been surfing behind a boat for a long time started on "regular" surfboards. They have only been making boat specific boards for a few years now, and people have been "wakesurfing", or as we used to call it, "freeboarding" since I was a kid, (and that's a loooong time ago)

My two sons still actually prefer using their ocean skim boards when riding behind the boat.

Go out and have fun on whatever you can!

Soo... got to my own possibly stupid question. I picked up an IS Blue Lake quad-fin 5'4". (I'm setting my '06 X2 up for some surfing)

I've done a little long-board surfing on a few Hawaii trips.

Would it be crazy for me to try that Blue Lake out in the (Oregon) Ocean Surf? I'm about 5'6" 165lbs.

Give it a try...what have you got to lose? It might be a little small for the ocean especially the oregon winter conditions. It gets big and gnarly here, but it could be surfable in smaller waves.

Thanks. I supposed I should give it a try and if successful, may want to add a (removable) leash. I also just found this thread on leashes:
