My friend is due for his, and is debating whether to take it to the dealer or do it ourselves. They want $300 to perform the service. They say that they change fluids, check motor mount/prop alaignment, check tune of engine, check perfect pass, and do a general check over of the boat. $300 seems a little high to me...~$50 for parts & fluids, & $250 for 1-2 hours labor? I'm not complaining about the money, but I just don't want to see him pay for a service we could easily do ourselves. I'm sure we can do the fluid changes, but if there is something that a regular automotive mechanic would miss, then I guess he should take it in. What do you guys think?
