I am seriously thinking about updating my 2000 BU VLX for a better wake and nicer features.

My 2000 BU VLX has been a good first boat but I would prefer a less rampy wake that is easier to build.

So, JR and I test rode the following three boats last week...

2009 BU VLX

The stock wake is small but a nice shape. I am sure a nice wake can be built with weight added but we did not pursue it. The pictured wake is with all tanks full and the wedge deployed. Honestly, I expected more from the stock ballast and wedge.

2009 MB TWB

The stock wake is amazing and the shape is nice. Its easily the biggest stock wake by a longshot from anything that I ridden. The pictured wake is with the left right bays full.

2008 CC SAN

The stock wake is small but a nice shape. This is the gold standard in wakes for me. The pictured wake is with the stock tanks full and about 250 lbs added to each rear locker.
