I learned that when you case a TS backroll and catch an edge, you really get the Sh@$ knocked out of you.

wearing shorts over my wetsuit. in all seriousness, i didn't learn anything new this year. i just concentrated on learning how to ride again. the best thing this year has been the number of cool people i've met thru wakeboarding! i guess if i were to pick a best trick, it'd be me coming close to a "legit" batwing.

beginning of season i could only do simple grabs, wake to wake, this year i got a new four winns bowrider, and i can land Tantrums, and almost a 360, i just can't manage to get ahold of the rope after spinning. Wish we could have got a wakeboard boat, but $$$, aswome summer, can't wait till next seaon to try out my new 04 Absolute Platinum 141

I finally landed an invert this season (scarecrow) I was very happy about that. In the spring I mainly had grabs and 180's. Only negative is that I seem to have gotten less consistent on 360's... Ah well, can't wait for next season! We got our first snow last night, so it's time to change modes now to skiing

Thanks J-Rod, the crow was just the most natural feeling to me (I prefer to flip forward & land on my heelside...) Now if I can only get over my fear off flipping backwards I know I can get a tantrum and backroll...

If you can land a crow, you can easily land a tantrum or a backroll.

My best trick was to become the ultimate boat ho that you see before you today. My new favorite is a HS Melan late 180, it's really fun.

I landed my first raley this year. I've tried at least 100 tantrums but haven't landed one. My first "invert" was a raley. What's up with that?! Oh, I also landed a wraped 3.

Steve Hilcherchercher dominates the nosegrab b-rolls off the dub. I actually saw him perfect the nose grab one and a half off the dub at Parker, Arz. Your the man Steve, lets ride this week.

This was my first real season ever riding kinda. Started in the spring. I learned a tantrum, scarecrow, 360 but lost it somehow. some grabs and 180's. And i landed a krypt the other day. (before a raley) it was weird. but i dont have my own boat so damn. i surf a lot so i picked it up real fast. Good stuff.

begininning of the season I had a few basic grabs and W2W down. Now I am getting tons more height on my w2w, have my hs 180(W2W) almost dialed,ts 180 1 wake, and switch hs 180 1 wake. Also my switch is starting to feel more natural. Next season is hopefully going to be full of new spins, maybe an invert or two, and start getting serious on my ts w2w. Landed something very weird. We have a bunch of really good boarders out here in Hawaii and nobody seemed to know what it was called. I landed a REVERSE S-Bend on accident the first time. However, when my buddy told me to try it again, I landed it again. Hit the wake with a railey edge, then lay it out, after you lay it out fully, then keep on rotating it like you are stargazing, but go all the way around and then pull it back in. So would you all call that a reverse s-bend? (Message edited by hawaiianstil'n on November 10, 2004)

So would you all call that a reverse s-bend? A laid out backroll? Actually they have a name for it over in Germany, but I forgot what they called it.

Damn ,That's a gay name! Oh well, I don't do them anymore because I have taken some nasty diggers from the "HINTERBooger". It's a blind trick for me because I ride goofy. I've come around a few times and took the trick low and got knocked the F*ck out!

I have done that before, i thaught that it was a reverse s-bend as well. Basically when I did it, I would cut at the wake with a raley/hoochie edge and insted of pushing my feet straight back and up off the wake, I pushed the nose of the board forward and up, making me spin backside. I would say that, at least the way that I was doing it on video, that is a a really f-ed up lookin backroll. Like a roll that you through your feet away from the boat way to much, like almost a flat spinning roll. I was doing it on accident when I was punkin out on hoochies. I have it on video I will try to find it. Everytime I did it I thought I was gunna die.

Jeremy, DUDE that rocked man! Like I said, I landed it the first two times (once on accident, other on purpose), then tried them every now and then so that my friends could laugh at me while getting knocked out. I figured it get's boring watching someone doing the same inverts, 180's, and grabs. So why not make a fool of myself. Andy, I'm with you on the "I was gunna die"!!!

with all due respect, i've done that crash many times. (and yes, i too thought "i was gunna die.") to me, it's not really a new trick, but more like a fundamentally incorrect raley attempt. flame on.

heh heh heh, thanks Pierce. Hey man, how you like that Tige wake? I rode on my buddy's 21 Tige with the TAPS on 7 and the ballast loaded, WITH a bunch of people in the boat and thought it was the biggest wake I had EVER SEEN!!!!!!! I threw a basic tantrum off the start and said "Hi" to God for a few seconds. Anyway, back to the thread!

Jared, thanks for the props. The backroll & a half made me talk funny for like three days, I even started pronouncing my name Hiltchererberger. I'm down to ride, Ryan & I hit it yesterday(perfect conditions), but he booked south 2day for his sisters wedding. Hit me up.

Joe, I would say it's a new trick if you mean to do it. And just to clear things up. The video above was NOT supposed to be anything other than a raley. It just all went horribly wrong. I obviously didn't cut through the wake. Which ended in tragedy. OK, maybe not tragedy but that did hurt like hell. So did the other attempts that looked just like it.

If you take the hinterberger and take off switch i know a lot of people who do that but actually land toeside it does not look like a half cab roll but it is, by technicality by no means is it a normal half cab roll. If you watch shapiros or brent starrs they do them like that. And Andy Nintzel A ts. bs tailgrab 360 is extremely impressive. If you dont mean frontside a lot of people get it mixed up because you can land frontside wrapped blind so people assume backside.

Gotta agree with that. In a tailgrab backside three it seems like it would be hard to get the handle. I've only done indy. Looks like it's time to step it up! You have video of that Andy?

Oh yeah I guess I'll contribute. This is one of the first ones I landed two years ago. Sad to say I haven't progressed much. Fun trick when you land it clean. Not so fun when you over rotate. http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=4666

Kevin is riding Hyperlite now? J-rod I don't think so, that would truly be amazing, I would say more amazing than any 1080. I'll contribute to this thread: I landed a handful of grabbed 3's this season, and a handful of ts backrolls.

I was in awe when I saw Harrington do the 5, I ca't imagine the 7! Not sure I care to though... the 5 looks like it's just at the point where it's jerky enough to start loosing style.

Harrington does a wake to wake flat toeside blind 540 only person ive ever seen do it off the wake. Harris does is off double up and as far as i know no one has ever done a seven but check out relentless i thinbk shane could do it off axis for sure he has to stall out his 5. Andy that is very impressive.
