Take it from me you def dont want a floating slider. It sounds good and you think it'll be fine but once its in the water its moves even if you anchor it and then its harder to hit because it bob up and down then could possibly go under when your on it. Ive attempted to build one 3 times and none of em worked. Its way easier to just build the slider you were goin to build and just take some 2x4's nail em to the bottom of your slider then hammer em into the bottom of the lake. Now your going to have to take a measurement of the depth of the spot but the slider will be way better and hold up alot better to. Hope this helps you out

i have built a floating slider that works great. check out my profile for a picture. I used the black floats that are made for boat docks.

yeah, floating sliders are fine if you build them right...just like jsimpson said, use the rubberized styrofoam blocks that are used to float docks, just google floating docks and accessories and there are a couple sites you can get them from....they work great, and jsimpson that slider is sick...nice work

yeah, i was thinking about building one too, but on my lake they dont allow permanent stuff like that except for docks so it would have to be a floating one

I've made a floating one successfully also. A couple things I hav learned: If using PVC pipe run pieces of wood through the center, a friend had the pipes shatter and it was pretty ugly. The wood at least keeps you from falling all the way through. On the anchor lines put 10 feet of bungee cord this keeps the boat wakes from dragging the anchors around. At each end of it hang a 5 gallon bucket off with some rocks in it. This keeps it a lot more stable when the rider gets on it. Inner tubes for floating down a river from a tire store work great for cheap floation about $10 each. The slider we made we used for a week down at Shasta with no issues going to bring it back this year.

I am currently working on a floating kicker. I'll let you know how that goes.

Skiing made me board,
