A friend of mine is looking for a used V Drive to upgrade to from a direct drive. Price range is 15k - 25k. He doesn't really have a preference as far as brand goes. Here are some of the boats he's looking at, any opinions are appreciated. Also feel free to post up links to other deals in the Orlando/Tampa/South Florida areas.

Also, I know the SAN's have great wakes along with the wakesetters and the XStar, but how is the Moomba V drive wake? I have ridden behind a Moomba direct drive a good amount and it's not bad with weight but I'm sure the v drives are different.

Thanks for the help.

thats a pretty nice deal on the Tige, I had one the same year. Its a great boat but wont have quite the wake as the other boats, my personal preference would lean towards the Super Air. It just depends on what he is willing to spend and which boat he can get the best deal on.

to me it would be the tige or the CC. I like Tiges more but it would come down to seeing both boats in person.
The mastercraft is listed for 28k on craigslist. Plus did you see the steering wheel.LOL the guy is nutz
Never been a real big fan of the moomba but thats just me. They have made some strides in the last couple of years but still have a way to go IMPO.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw that steering wheel. There are a few more SAN's that he's looking at that I will get links to so you guys can look at them. As far as wake quality goes would you say the SAN's XStars and Wakesetters are significantly better than the others when weighted or is there not that big of a difference/ just personal preference? Also, anybody find any other good deals in the area?

1. SAN
2. Tige (price is awesome)
3. X-star/Wakesetter (pending its price)
4. Either moomba.... I like moomba's but with this economy they have lost the "price point" battle to everyone else who is starving

The Moomba Mobius V throws a great wake. It is not that far behind the the SAN, 205V or Original vlx wake. The boat is way bigger inside than the Xstar or SAN. The Moomba won't feel as plush and defintely values function over form. Check out my profile pic. That Moomba looks dead sexy on the water when the decals are all removed.

That being said the price on that SAN looks pretty good if you can get them to fix the interior or drop the price 1-2 grand as is.

Don't overlook the throttle knob on the Mastercraft. That might just seal the deal!!!
