Keel Guard and effects on wake?

I am considering buying a piece of keel guard for my boat, but I have a concern. Does this product effect the shape of the wake? The guy at boaters world looked at me like I was a mad man when I asked him about it.

mike im fairly clueless but i think i heard someone say one time that it affects the shape of your wake

I would think so, but how much? I don't want to spend 119.95 on a strip of rubber and have to tear it off because it wrecked my wake.

i would think that any effect it had would be negated by the effects of the rest of the hull (the water that passes the bow gaurd would then be smoothed out by the middle/back of the hull)??

Hey dustin, Boaters world.com has some for 109, and 129 5' and 6' lengths.
