why is it that every 1080 that has been landed and documented been thrown switch. i could see hitting a switch 900 so you can land regular, but switch doesn't make much sense to me, but i also don't hit 1080's.

believe it or not most people spin frontside better from the switch position

its easier to spin off axis from switch... and its a lot easier to do that much rotation off axis rather than a flatspin

Is there even really a switch when you get to the level of riding that it takes to do a 1080?

I would say anyone who can do a 1080 can ride switch just as well as they can regular.

Agreed Jon. I think it depends what trick they are doing. As well as they can ride switch, I'm sure there are tricks they would prefer to do regular and other tricks they would prefer to do switch. That's why it's not a big deal for these guys to do these tricks switch.

Once you learn to take off switch and normal, it doesn't matter because you do the trick in the air.

i heard mark kenney was doing them reg heelside
because most pros that have done 1080's already have switch 9's dialed, the take off is no problem. its just that they spin better from switch then regular

the real reason i was asking was because rusty said that a couple months prior to the 1080 he was having trouble with 9's and couldn't even hit a switch ts double up so unless he was doing switch 9's off the wake he was most likely talking about regular 9's. thats why i asked why he would go to switch for them, i don't know about parks or danny.
