Air bags in the rear and you should be fine. make sure you have an onboard air.

you can do air shocks. they are really easy to install and easy to air up and down

Ride-rite air bags. They make nice set ups for lowered trucks that bolt in easy enough.

ok. i had seen the ride rite bags. should i go ahead and get the firestone step up as well that comes with a compressor and guage? do you guys think i could throw 22s on the truck? or would i be pushing it(20's are on it currently)

22's would look tons better. those 20's just look small. IMO. and airbags with onboard compressor would be perfect.

Use the red Silverado parked behind your new truck.

I always recommend the on board compressor with the in cab gauge, makes adjusting them a breeze.

I'd put 22's on it.

You could do 22's easily...my friend has the same truck and it came with 20's stock.

thanks for the input. going with the 22s, bags and compressor. i thought the 20's looked small too i just didnt know if i would have any issues with the tires bottoming out in the wells since its been lowered.

Lowered truck is an oxymoron....

Just lowered the ass end of my Titan 3" and put some 22"s on it. Like everyone else said, looks a lot better. Be prepared to loose braking, I completely redid the front braking system. I had the set up by Airlift installed w/onboard compressor and it works like a champ. The kit comes with a wirless controller which is pretty cool too. It allows you to lower or increase air pressure and gives you the reading on the bags.

22's for sure...

If you are in the market for new tires with those 22's, you cannot go wrong with the price/durability/smoothness etc. of the Toyo Proxes II, I am very impressed with them. I have ran 3 different sets of 22's, 1. the Toyo Proxes I's 2. bridgestone pole positions and am on my 1st set of Proxes II's and love them. Much quieter and smoother then the Proxes I's and bridgestones, MUCH less expensive then the bridgestones and pirelli's, but in my opinion, the best tire for the $.

^^^^ haah agreed why lower a full size hemi truck when you know you need it as a tow vehicle?IMO full size trucks with lowered kits on them just seems stupid but i wont judge and too each their own.

look out for curbs :-)

^^^^^andy...

Yeah, a lowered truck is real impractical compared to a kitted 2500/3500 with so much cheese dick suspension bits that 50% of it's tow capacity is lost. To each his own, man. A lowered truck is no more ridiculous to me than a lifted freeway flier that will never see gravel.

Nice. Making friends and influencing people is not your strong suit, kid.

Post up some pics of your ride so we can throw our opinions at you.....or does Mom only let you drive it on the weekends?

so the consensus is if you need more power or a better pull buy a truck keep it stock a d use it for what it is intended.

Take me for example i have a 2003 f250 ford diesel with the 7.3 liter superduty package .Its a 4x4 all stock and i use it for work and a daily driver.its perfect for towing a work trailer, boat, getting off a washed out muddy road, slipper steep boat ramp,,or just driving down the road. This goes for stock full size trucks, they were not meant to be over lifted or dropped down..

just get a rice burner of you want to be low ;)

I pull a twenty four foot boat with a bagged and bodydropped roadmaster stationwagon. The only difference I can tell is it handles better when lowering the center of gravity and can support more weight being adjustable. The lower profile tires are also rated higher and seem to stick better on the ramp.
I usually end up taking my f250 not because it pulls better but because I don't want haters to key it in the parking lot.

Sweet ride! I'd love to see you rolling down the freeway with your boat in tow, do you have any pics? I bet you turn a lot of heads going down the road.

You've basically combined my 2 current vehicles, '96 Impala SS and '95 Bagged fullsize Chevy. I've towed boats with my truck too, and like you mentioned, it's super convenient to be able to adjust your ride height for towing.

Alan, if you go with the 'air-rite' kit that works with your leaf springs, make sure you can easily adjust the air pressure. There's nothing worse than being in someone's truck with helper bags in them pressured up while not towing, and the ass end of the truck bounces down the road because it's super stiff.

Or you could always 4-link and bag it up right and not have to worry about it!
