This is for those of the Nautique crowd who have had the experience of removing the color from the mid nineties Nautiques. What did you use to get it off? My friend has recently purchased a 96 SS. I have been helping him wakepimp it out and it has been fun. He is thinking about doing something different with the color scheme. we were wondering what we need to remove the color from the hull as it is not gelcoat. Any help would be appreciated!

I know SOMEONE on here has had to do this. There is too much knowledge on this site!

Unless someone has already modified it, it IS gelcoat. The primary color band is gel, the pinstripes and logos are tape.

I dont think you can get it off. Your best bet would be to get vynal or paint to cover it.

This is as close as it gets
i think the top stripe and one under it are gel coat, there is usually a tiny tiny accent under them boat/between them thats a sticker, just use a hairdryer
this is as close as we got ours to nakedUpload

Hairdryer took care of the Super sport Nautique stickers as well Nick? Did it leave any kind of outline of where they were? Thanks again!

yeah, hair dryer on the stickers and then gasoline will remove adhesive well.

We had a little, I just used some adhesive remover and it took care of most of it, and just using the boat helps blend it all together

If I look at my boat in just the right light I can still see the "Super Sport" where the hull was slightly sunfaded around the old lettering. It annoys me, but I don't think anyone else has ever noticed.
