I ordered a thing of pimp juice, you need a ton of it and its not as slick as our 45cent brand. I am trying to get my 14s into Temets, so that may be part of it but I wont buy it again. If soap or shaving cream breaks down my bindings before I loose interest in them or otherwise break them...I will let you know Anyway, I figured that because you use so little that it may be worth it...but I will stick with plain old soap for now one...simply because it works better. End of rant, after I paid twenty bucks for watered down dawn that smells like a grape.

Big bottles of hand soap that is dirt cheap - .99c - works better than the tiny $10.00 bottle of boot lube i bought.

i have to admit i'm a newt juice fan. we used soap for so long, and it always kinda stays in your boots, newt juice rinses out all the way as soon as you get in. i like it!

I used to ride with some one who used Baby Oil! Wow, now talk about it NEVER coming out of your bindings and every fall was a full ejection from the board! If it's not binding slime I'll struggle to get in my board ... Sorry I'm a fan of Newt Juice and I'm with Rick Biodegradable is nicer for the fish.

I've got some duck butter on my boat right now, it absolutely sucks. Somebody gave it to me and I'm out of shaving cream, which I've been forgetting to buy for the last few weeks.

Big Shizzle (big_ed_x2) said "try putting it on before you get the board and binding wet." This is the trick with products like Newt Juice etc. Once the bindings are wet it rinses right off. Grab the board off the rack, lube it up, wet just your feet, and you will slide right in. Soap, even though biodegrable, is bad for the environment. Hey Walt, was that the stuff I tried to use? If so it does suck LOL

Herbal Essence shampoo with water (50/50) in a spray bottle -- works great, smells good, cheap and biodegradable. Just put the spray bottle in your handy dandy v-drive PVC pipe flag/drink/lube holder...

Chris ~ I know what you mean but maybe that's why transits rip?? I have transits and still use lube to hopefully prolong the inevitable.

I have been using the Soap Buddy lube for a few years now and love it. slightly expensive but I found it to work better than most. Smells nice too, its got a tropical scent to it. http://www.hbpinnovations.com/slime.html

We used LAVA and it is fantastic! After it was gone we decided to try something else. We bought a gallon of Toe Jam. We hate it. It tends to coagulate and does not adhere to the binding like the LAVA did. We are using copious amounts of the Toe Jam in an effort to get rid of it. The LAVA is absolutely wonderful.

I can't believe some of you are worried about a little bit of soap in the water when you are out there burning 6 gallons an hour of gas in your wake boat. (Message edited by wakeskirider on August 09, 2005)

just wait for the sales we got a gallon of newt juice for 15 or twenty bucks on sale at copes. i liked the post that came up on another binding lube thread it went something like this " if your so worryed about saving money use the orange vest instead or the 100 dollar neoprene vest and put that 100 dollars in your gas tank, an so on about the better and the worse senarios

This is really a matter of opinion. I will say and for a fact that Saltwater and Freshwater have a VERY different affect on lube. I used some of the Overton's name brand over the weekend and found it to be very good as well. it's like finding your groove, you need to find the right lube!

Can't believe there's only one vote in for Lava, I've used the stuff for about 3 seasons now, love it. It turns funny colors, but stays good forEVER and you only need about a quarter-sized drop to cover both feet if you do it right. Why are some of you lubing the BOOT? Put the slime on your feet, rub it around, get the boot wet, put it on...easiest and most product-conserving.

All right. Lets try this....as far as homemade lube goes, what is the best mix. I have heard dish soap mixed with water (what I use). I have heard adding wire pulling lubricant too. I was thinking about trying to come up with the perfect mix and making it by the gallon. I like a lube that stays on just a little to aid with getting the bindings off...I have size 14 feet and crank my bindings on tight so I have no worries of falling out. Others want it to dissipate immediately... Anyone have the perfect mix that they want to share?

I've heard that KY in water works good...not sure on the ratios though, have to figure that one out for yourself.
