What CWB boards do you all ride and how do they ride? I won a CWB board today and get to pick which one I want, but have never ridden one before. For reference, I have ridden a Lyman and Axis for the past two years, ride behind a X-Star and have had a knee reconstructed so I like softer landings. Thanks.

The marius has toted the most "softest landing board" remarks for CWB boards on these forums. The Faction also has recieved lots of soft landing remarks too

I ride the Faction and it lands really well, pops nice and has nice speed into the wake. The Marius is supposed to land really well too. We have two Transcend riders in my crew and they both swear by that board and it's landings. I think they have a solid line.

I like my Marius very soft landings and nice consistent pop not the buck up in the air like the old Subjekt.

I have zero complaints about my Transcend, but the only other CWB I've ridden is the Pure. Don't rule out the Marius though, I'd love to try one someday.

I used to rock the 06 Marius but now am on an 08 Marius... soft landings & consistent pop. I also like a loose board so I the Marius is for me. (Message edited by attila916 on July 11, 2008)

I rode the old marius for a while. It is a nice consistent ride but it just didn't do it for me. I got back on my old absolute (04) and just felt a lot more comfortable on it. I am now riding the transcend and like it pretty well so far. It has nice pop and is loose and fun when you want it to be. A friend of mine now rides my old marius and really likes it and does a lot better on it than his old board. It makes a huge difference what kind of riding style you have for the board choice.

i actually have gotten the chance to ride the lyman and i own the transcend. I actually thought the finless lyman rode pretty similar to the the transcend. I did feel like there was more area on the trascend though. Also a comment from one of my crew going from his one to trying my transcend. "man, it's like i'm landing on pillows out there" Transcend has been good to me. haven't done much with other cdub boards.

I rode the marius 2006 for 2 years ....now the lyman. The lyman is superior in every way.....and lands a lot softer .....which isn't that easy to say, considering the soft landings the marius has.

Is it fair to say the majority of the CWB range ride on the slow side?

I definitely wouldn't say the majority are slow. The Faction is a quick board similar to a 3DS, and the Transcend has really good speed as well. I wouldn't even call the Marius (2008) slow, more like medium to fast.

The 07 Marius is slower then the 08 Marius. A little different shape for 08.

The Pure is a revised old Absolute shape and could really be ridden by just about anyone from a beginner up. Gabe Lucas rides the shape and he rides at the pro level.

Speaking of CWB's Boardersbestbuy has a 138 Faction w/ boardbag for 150! I'm tempted to buy this just in need of the boardbag, getting a new ride with it!

The board bag is nice, but it wouldn't fit my Faction with 08 Murrays mounted. The Murrays are a high cut binding, but keep that in mind. I can't say enough about the Faction board though. I have traditionally bought a new board each year, but I think I will stick with this one for a while.

Since the BBB's latest sale is being talked about, I have a question about the Faction, and you will have to excuse my lack of knowledge when it comes to the descriptions of boards. I currently have a cheap ass board, one that cost me $150 new with bindings, but I have ridden my buddies hyperlite Sub 6 and Marek. What I love about these boards is that I am able to get "loose" on them very easily. On my own board it takes some work to disengage the fins so I can get perpendicular to the board. So my question is, will I be able to get "loose" relatively easily with the Faction? Thanks for the help

The Faction is pretty loose when flat. There are some people on here that use smaller fins on it, but I am enjoying the ride with the stockers. It has nice hold into the wake, but is loose enough for me when not on edge. A guy on the boat rode it the other day, and he usually rides a 3DS which is very locked in and he remarked that he liked the looser feel of the Faction. He has been riding my board since. The landings are really nice too.

I prefer the Faction with the smaller Absolute fins. It has all the grip you need when on edge and is easy to butter around if you land off kilter. Definitely a great shape!
