Damn and I thought the tie ups we had were big on Lake Norman. This is freaking huge. What was the estimated boat count any idea?

Jobbie nooner was crazy again this year, if you want pictures, do a search for Jobbienooner or toolienooner and one of the two will turn up lots of photos. i don't know what the boat count was but lets just say you could not even see the Island from the water.

Nick - I am also about an hour away. I have a brother in law that lives on the lake. I took my boat out there last year and it can get pretty choppy. But, if you ever decide to go, let me know. There is a cut on the north side of the lake that is guaranteed to be be calm all the time. It's incredible but the water is pretty chill, even in August when we went, probably mid 50s.
I will get you directions if you head out there. I think its just northeast of the shipping channel.
worth the trip.
